Financial Assistance

We take hundreds of insurance plans and we are proud to be the only office in Contra Costa County to provide care to patients with MediCal and those who are medically underserved.

The treatment for cancer and blood disorders can be complicated, and the cost can be overwhelming. The treatment plans are usually expensive and different insurance companies provide different coverage for treatment. Few insurance plans cover 100% of the total cost for therapy. Patients can sometimes be expected to pay for co-pays, deductibles, medications and other out-of-pocket expenses.

Our office bills the insurance company as a courtesy; however, the unpaid balance is the responsibility of the patient. Our financial department contacts patients prior to treatment so that each patient is aware of the cost of therapy. Most patient-related fees (co-pay, deductible, share-of-cost, etc.) will be collected at the time of service. Payment plans can be developed with this office if needed.

There are patient assistance programs available to those who require financial assistance. These programs are dependent on income and diagnosis. Most assistance programs require proof of income, and they may request tax returns.
